FUTUREROADS Study Group

We, the FUTUREROADS Study Group, is an independent, non-partisan group established in June 2024 by Myanmar-focused researchers, political analysts, journalists, and civil society activists.

The group aims to contribute toward a Federal Democratic Union of Myanmar based on a strong democratic foundation, where all ethnic groups are equal in national matters and where good governance prevails. We seek to cultivate a new generation of leaders who can promote freedom, equality, the rule of law, peace, and sustainable development while fostering tolerance, thoughtful consideration, and democratic thinking in Myanmar society.

We conduct research, analysis, and critical assessment of Myanmar’s political processes, changes, dynamics, their underlying reasons, motivations, and directions through the perspective of building a new Federal Democratic Union. We also focus on researching and

analyzing the constitutions, policies, laws, and governance structures that would support a comprehensive and robust Federal Democratic Union of Myanmar.
